Mentora — Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about how Mentora works for learners, parents, and tutors.
Mentora is an independent technology-enabled tutoring marketplace connecting learners and parents/guardians with tutors and providing tutor verification, booking, scheduling, communication, payment, safety and dispute-management tools.
Yes. Mentora conducts criminal-background verification through competent Cameroon authorities or an authorized verification process. Criminal-background verification must be renewed at least every two years, or earlier where Mentora requires it.
Mentora's Platform Commission is 10% of the Tutor's listed session price for each completed tutoring transaction. Any applicable Tutor withdrawal charge is borne by the Tutor.
After the Lesson is completed, if no valid dispute is submitted within 24 hours, the eligible Tutor payout is automatically released. A valid dispute places the disputed amount on hold while Mentora reviews it.
Where the circumstances permit, the Learner/Parent may be offered rescheduling before refund or replacement. Up to two rescheduling opportunities may apply in qualifying circumstances, subject to the Booking rules.
Submit the dispute within 24 hours after the scheduled completion of the Lesson. The payment remains on hold while Mentora reviews the Booking records and available evidence.
The Parent/Guardian must remain present throughout the Lesson unless Mentora expressly approves a designated responsible adult in advance. The Tutor and Parent/Guardian must comply with the Home Tutoring Safety & Service Agreement.
Use Mentora's designated complaint/support channel, identify the Booking and provide relevant facts and available evidence. Serious safety complaints should be reported immediately.
